MEET KRISTA
Landscape design is more than a career, it’s Krista’s calling.
Krista Percival believes in the healing power of a beautiful garden. She experienced this transformation in her own life which started her on a path to sharing her unique talents with others. Krista is a gardener at heart and grew up in a family of avid gardeners. She began designing gardens back in 2000 and draws inspiration from art, architecture, nature.
Over the years, Krista has won numerous awards for her work including winning HGTV’s Landscaper’s Challenge, San Diego County’s Water Wise Garden of the Year (for her own garden) and The Mission Hills Garden Club’s Green Thumb Award (three times). Her work has also been featured in San Diego Home/Garden Lifestyles magazine.
Krista listens and exceeds expectations.
Rather than a narrow focus on a singular signature aesthetic or design trend, Krista always interprets her clients’ needs and goals into custom designs that deliver value and lasting beauty. She truly listens to her clients and uses her decades of experience in landscape design and gardening to turn each unique outdoor space into a simple, stylish and healthy garden.
In addition to her design background, she is member of the California State Bar, and a licensed mediator. Her experience in landscape construction help her clients achieve successful outcomes with neighbors, HOAs, and municipalities.
She feels extremely grateful for her clients and the tradespeople with whom she works in achieving these beautiful transformations.
Krista believes in service as a lifestyle.
When not working with clients, Krista teaches yoga and volunteers her skills in her community. She has designed school gardens at La Jolla Elementary and Skyline Elementary School in Solana Beach. She mentors students at Canyon Crest High School who are interested in Landscape Design.
She also teaches mindfulness-based stress reduction seminars to Teen Volunteers in Action and National Charity League. For many years she served as the co-director of the Mindful Movement Program for the Solana Beach School District, and taught Yoga P.E in her sons’ classrooms.
