Casual Beauty in the Ranch
Krista’s client wanted a clean, simple and natural expression of a classic California ranch house at her Rancho Santa Fe horse farm. She had already chosen the old grove olive tree and beautiful and textural terracotta tiles with her designer Stefanie Mullen and wanted to add in a water feature a new vegetable garden, a grove of fruit trees, and a horse trail that winds along the edge of her beautiful new front garden.

BEFORE: The front entry- a blank slate.

AFTER: Casual California farm style invites nature, antiques and fine textured plants.

BEFORE: A clean slate in Rancho Santa Fe and a craving for olives.

AFTER: Earth tones, soft textures and trickling water make for a peaceful entry.

BEFORE: No entry area yet, and we made the weird paddock into a big vegetable garden.

AFTER: The entry courtyard leads home to the left and to the vegetable garden on the right.

AFTER: Limestone trough fountain looking toward the path to the kitchen garden.

AFTER: A weird paddock in the front garden with lots of sun provided an opportunity for a dreamy vegetable garden.

AFTER. The garden party where everyone got to plant vegetables.
